I was born and raised in the Fife Lake area and moved to Kalkaska in 1956 when I married Duane.  We have two sons, James D. and Royce D., both living in Kalkaska. We have been blessed with four grandchildren, Jake, Corey, Kassi and Ashley and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zacary and Skye.

After working at The Leader and Kalkaskian and Wayne Wire Cloth Products for a number of years, I was hired as secretary for the Village of Kalkaska in July of 1970.  In September of that year I was appointed as Village Clerk.  (At this time the Village Clerk had to run for re-election every year.)  From 1970 until my retirement from the Village Office in 1999, I served as Village Clerk, Co-Manager and Office Manager.  I was not the Clerk from July of 1981 until March of 1984.  I retired as Village Clerk in 2000 at which time I was elected as a Trustee.  I served in that capacity until 2004 when I was elected your President.

Kalkaska is my home and I find it a real privilege to have served these positions.  Thank you for your support and faith in me.  I will continue to serve you in the best of my ability.
