Police Officers
Officers of the Kalkaska Police Department are all state certified through Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards. All full-time police officers are required to be State certified Crime Scene Technicians. Other required certification area for Kalkaska Police Officers are: Data master/Breathalyzer, Preliminary Breath Tester, Radar, Use of Force, Firearms, Medical First Responder and HAZMAT, as well as many others.
Areas of expertise by individual officers within the Kalkaska Police Department include Police Canine, Northern Regional Emergency Response Team, Accident Investigation, Criminal Investigations, Interview and Interrogation, Scene Command and for all types of emergencies, Firearms Instruction (both Law Enforcement and Civilian), CPR Instruction, Management and Supervision, Emergency and pursuit driving, scuba diving, Community Policing, Hostage Negotiations and more.

Reserve Police Officers Police Reserve Officers make up an intricate part of the police department. These are essentially volunteers that put in there personal time without pay or reimbursement to assist law enforcement in everyday duties and special events. They are required to complete many hours of training and updates, on their own time. They currently include: |
